In the Natural World

SEEKtoFIND
From July 17 to August, 22, 2025, I presented my interactive exhibition at the Charles E. Burchfield Nature & Art Center in West Seneca New York. This beautiful gallery is situated on the banks of the Buffalo Creek and features hiking trails, playgrounds and areas both inside and outside for nature studies. My exhibit combined paintings, botanical drawings, nature activities and Sunday afternoon talks with ecology leaders from Western New York. With writer and educator, Eve Tulbert, I produced a kit of materials for both kids and adults to explore the natural world including through AI-powered species identification. The totality of the exhibition and the activities during the five weeks of SEEKtoFIND, demonstrated both the beauty of nature and the enormous pressure it is under from climate change and man-made damage.
Sunday speakers included; Marcus Rosen of the WNY Land Conservancy, Kathleen of CW Native Plant Farms and Thea Lona Hassan, from the Alliance for Mission Based Recyclers.
