KEEPING ACRYLIC PAINT OUT OF OUR WATER SUPPLY

Acrylics are plastic and the last thing I want to have flowing down the drain. I am using the CRASH paint solids waste water cleaning system developed by Golden acrylic paint.  I bought the kit for less than $40 online. It is available at various art supply stores and lasts a long time.

STEP ONE: Measure and pour two chemicals into your bucket of dirty water.

STEP TWO: Wait an hour and then pour the contents into the filter assembly.  

STEP THREE: Leave it overnight and see the results. The filter paper can be thrown in the trash and the clear water goes safely down the drain.  In the background is my painting, 'Diving for Plastics'.  Plastics in our environment is a huge issue for me!
