HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED

In 2007, after being caught in a blizzard, I created a children's book, 'Buffalo Snow'. The people of Buffalo were always telling storm stories and it seemed like the children of the city should have their own. 'Buffalo Snow' was a labor of love that turned out to be a huge hit. People bought multiple copies and sent them out to friends and family around the world. This past year the second edition was completely sold out. When a distributor asked if I would reprint it, I had to reflect on all the changes in the last 18 years. The climate seems very different - less snow, more cold right now. The pattern of how the arctic air moves across the country has changed as well. Cell phones would also alter the plot. Every teenage driver now has a phone to stay in contact with their parents and emergency services. Another version of 'Buffalo Snow' would be entirely different but climate change could be the basis of many new versions. It's something to think about!
